H.E.R.D. gives students more opportunities to compete nationally, earn NIETOC bids, and receive meaningful feedback throughout the season—without adding another travel weekend.

What you get:

  • 4 NIETOC Bid Tournaments

  • 3 preliminary rounds with 2 judges per round

  • 5-judge finals

  • 7 NIETOC events

  • Free judge training & certification

  • Fully asynchronous competition for grades 9–12
