Getting Started
What is Zebrapad?
Zebrapad is a collection of interactive, speech-specific tools designed to help students build, practice, and polish their performances. From cutting scripts to brainstorming research, we give students and coaches a structured, creative way to approach speech.
Is Zebrapad AI?
No. Zebrapad does not offer AI tools or any generative technology.
While AI is a promising and important tool, the patchwork policy around its use and access in education has led us to develop tools that leverage automation without generative capabilities.
That means that the tools reflect the users’ own ideas, work, and language, and does not create or ‘serve’ them ideas or content. We build tools to guide users in how they can bring their ideas to life, but we do not do the work for them. We believe this is the most ethical, empowering, and educational method.
What’s the difference between Members and Subscribers?
Members are individuals who sign up to stay connected with Zebrapad. They will receive updates and news about what we’re building. Subscribers are schools or programs with an active paid plan. Subscribers have full access to Zebrapad’s interactive tools and resources for their team.
How do I register my team?
Coaches will register their team through our website. The coach will create an account, select a subscription plan, and once payment is made/received - login information can be shared with students to gain access.
How many users can use one team subscription?
A team subscription covers your entire roster - students, coaches, parents, and judges. We ask that you do not share login information with other teams or students.
How many students can use the site and tools at the same time?
As many as you need. Zebrapad and its tools support concurrent use, so whether five students are working in practice or fifty are logging in from home, they can all use the tools at the same time without restriction.
Can students use Zebrapad at home, or only at school?
Both. Students can log in from school devices, home computers, or personal tablets. As long as they have internet access, they can use Zebrapad.
Do students need their own email addresses?
Yes, students will need access to an email address if they want to use tools, save work, or receive their reports. Coaches can decide whether students use school-issued or personal emails, depending on your district’s policy.
Pricing & Subscriptions
What does it cost?
We keep our pricing straightforward and team-based. Subscription plans are listed on our website so you can see exactly what you’ll pay before you register.
Are there extra fees or taxes?
No hidden fees. The price you see is the price you pay. Because many schools are tax-exempt, our subscriptions are priced accordingly.
What happens when my subscription expires?
When a subscription ends, team access will close. Coaches can renew at any time, and we’ll send reminders well before your access runs out.
Do you offer individual memberships?
If you are an individual looking to access the site, you may choose the Small Team subscription or you may contact us at admin@zebrapadspeech.com for other potential options.
Content & Tools
Can Zebrapad be used for debate or extemp?
While most tools are designed for speech, some resources are helpful for debate skills. We will continue to develop our extemp resources, but debate is not Zebrapad’s main focus today.
Do you update or add new tools over the season?
Yes. Zebrapad is always evolving. We roll out updates, improvements, and new resources throughout the season based on feedback from students and coaches.
Can coaches share resources with parents or administrators?
Yes. Many of our articles, guides, and resources are built to help explain the value of speech and showcase student progress. Coaches are welcome to share these with parents, administrators, or school boards.
IT & Access
Will Zebrapad work with school firewalls?
Yes. Zebrapad is designed to be school-friendly. If your school’s firewall blocks access, your IT department can “safelist” Zebrapad. We’ll provide the exact information they need and will work directly with them to make sure students can log in without issues.
What devices and browsers work best?
Zebrapad works on most modern devices. For the smoothest experience, we recommend using Chrome or Edge on laptops, Chromebooks, or tablets.
How secure is student data?
Very. Zebrapad collects only the minimum information needed to provide logins and save student work. We do not sell, share, or advertise with student data.
Does Zebrapad comply with FERPA/education privacy standards?
Zebrapad is built with school use in mind and collects only minimal student information. We do not sell or share data, and we follow education privacy best practices.
What happens if students can’t access outside email at school?
No problem. Coaches can choose whether students use school-issued or personal emails. As long as students can receive an emailed report or return link, they can save and access their work. If your school has restrictions, reach out to admin@zebrapadspeech.com. We’ll work with you and your IT team to make sure Zebrapad is usable.
Using Zebrapad
How do students log in?
Coaches provide login credentials to their team. Students sign in on our website with the team’s credentials and can start using the tools right away.
Can students save progress?
Yes. When students save or finish a tool, they enter an email address and Zebrapad sends them a copy of their work along with a return link. That link is their “save point” — they can use it any time to pick up where they left off.
Do you provide monthly reports or dashboards?
Yes. Coaches receive a monthly dashboard showing how their team members are using Zebrapad. It’s a simple way to track engagement and highlight growth.
Is training or onboarding available for coaches?
Absolutely. We provide onboarding resources and are happy to walk coaches through the tools. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident using Zebrapad with your team.
