• To ensure compliance with NSDA rules (e.g., tools guide you but do not generate full speeches)

• Zebrapad collects, uses, and retains student and school-related information solely for legitimate educational purposes and to provide, maintain, support, and improve the educational Services requested by schools, educators, coaches, and users.

• Zebrapad does not use student data for targeted advertising, commercial profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing or supporting its educational Services.

• Student data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the educational purpose for which it was collected, comply with applicable legal obligations, or as otherwise directed or authorized by the school, educator, or user. When student data is no longer required for these purposes, it will be securely deleted or de-identified in accordance with Zebrapad data retention practices.

• Schools, educators, and users may request deletion of applicable student data by contacting Zebrapad.

4. What We Don’t Do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

• We do not use your work for marketing or competitive advantage.

• We do not share data with advertisers.

 

5. Data Ownership & Security

• All work you upload or create in Zebrapad belongs to you.

• We use secure servers and encryption where possible to protect your data.

• You control whether to keep or delete your data.

• Zebrapad maintains procedures for responding to suspected or confirmed unauthorized access to, disclosure of, or acquisition of personal information.

• In the event of a suspected security incident, Zebrapad will promptly investigate the incident, take reasonable steps to contain and remediate the issue, assess the nature and scope of any affected information, and document its response.

• If a breach affects student or school data, Zebrapad will notify affected schools, districts, educators, users, and/or other appropriate parties as required by applicable law and contractual obligations. Notifications will be made without unreasonable delay and will include available information regarding the nature of the incident, the information affected, and steps taken or recommended in response.

• Zebrapad will cooperate with affected schools and districts in meeting applicable breach notification and response requirements.

7. Student Safety

If students enter content related to self-harm, abuse, or danger, Zebrapad will:

• Provide immediate on-screen resources (e.g., “Talk to your coach/advisor” or national helplines)

• Notify the linked coach account if appropriate

 

8. Your Choices

• You can update or delete your account at any time.

• You can contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.
